![]() Fortunately I had several to choose from. However, I had to use a different finger from the one I had used originally because Windows remembered my old fingerprints and required me to use new ones. Now in Windows 10, I am reinstalling Office Professional Plus 2021, but the activation fails mentioning maximum installation count exceeded. Therefore, I had to factory reset my notebook. ![]() This brought back the ability to enter fingerprints. In my HP Spectre x360, after installation of Windows 11, my system had problem with all inbuilt interfaces. My laptop came with a recovery partition and I don't know how to reinstall only MS office alone without doing a fresh installation. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\SystemĪnd set it's value to 1. After updating and installing other softwares on my laptop I decided to deleting a particular software I don't necessary need and in the process I mistakenly deleted microsoft office that came with the operating sytem. What's needed is to add this registry key The three packs have only one key whichh can be used on up to three installations. TIP: It is important to keep track of the license key (s) installed on each PC. ![]() Whew! I found the solution - or at least one I can live with. To keep the Licenses correct use the same License/CD key that you used originally for that PC. So now my problem is - how to find what that registry key is, and what has to be done to fix it. The fact that a new user ID can successfully use the fingerprint setup but my real user ID cannot suggests to me that there is something in my real user ID's registry that is wrong and needs to get changed back to what it was when the fingerprint scanner worked. Is ALL this data in the appropriate Windows/Users directory? So now my problem has morphed into a different one - what's the best method to copy all my user info from my real ID into the new one? I'll also have to rename the new one to my real ID and also change it's password and pin. So I logged off and tried logging on with my real ID (using my Pin because my real ID had no fingerprints registered.) When I tried to set up fingerprint login it failed just as before.īut.with all users logged out, if I touch my finger to the fingerprint sensor I get logging in as that new user I created. I tested it by logging off and logging back on with the new user ID. Even though Windows Hello said it was unavailable. Then I logged on as that user by using the pin and then tried the fingerprint setup. I set up a new user on the laptop and gave it Admin status and a pin. Hello Face still shows as currently unavailable. The driver is generic try you supplier it may have the proper driver.
